The Aveyron... naturally !

The Aveyron in general, and the Millau region in particular, is a very well preserved area. The fauna and flora are unusually diverse. Few places in France possess such wealth and variety. But be warned, these environments are fragile! It is imperative to respect them if they are to continue.

The Regional Nature Park (PNR) of the Grands Causses covers a large part of the department. It adjoins the National Park of the Cévennes and the PNR of Haut-Languedoc. To find out more about the activities of the park

Micropolis introduces visitors to the fascinating world of insects. Presentation of living species and discovery of an original entomology to say the least…: the city of insects is located at Saint-Léons, between Millau and Rodez.

Eurasian Griffon vultures and black vultures have been successfully reintroduced into the gorges of the Jonte, near Millau. Today, several hundred birds of prey nest in the cliffs along the river. A specially designed belvedere provides the best conditions to observe them.
